Alan Eggers Jefferson, Iowa Date of Death: June 7, 2017 Memorial services for Alan Eggers, 70, of Jefferson, will be held at 4:00pm Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home, Jefferson, IA. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 – 4:00pm Sunday at Slininger-Schroeder funeral Home. Alan Lee Eggers was born in Jefferson, Iowa on September 5, 1946 to Fred Carl Eggers and Beverly Joy Eggers Higgins. Alan graduated from Jefferson High School in 1965. He entered the United States Air Force on February 24, 1966. He was a maintenance technician for the Air Force and was a member of the crew of assistant mechanics for the C130 aircraft. He was honorably discharged December 15, 1969. Alan was a specialist in information technology and had a degree in Computer Science. He worked as a networking specialist for the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Alan’s son, Chadwick Eggers, was born in Tennessee in 1988 to a previous marriage which ended in divorce in 2001. Alan moved to Jefferson in 2000. He worked for Kum and Go for 12 years. His hobbies included collecting sports cards and going to car shows. He collected guns, knives and silver and gold coins. In 2003, Alan met Gertrudes “Daisy” Asingho online. He visited her twice in the Philippines, and they were married in November 2007. In September 2016, Alan began treatments for cancer. He died June 7, 2017 at the Greene County Medical Center at the age of 70 years. Surviving is his wife, Gertrudes “Daisy” Eggers, of Jefferson, IA; mother, Beverly Higgins of Jefferson, IA ; sister, Jane Godwin of Jefferson, IA; son, Chadwick Eggers of Tennessee; step-children: Kim Mikhael of Jefferson, IA; and Jenibeth A. Estribor and Michael Asingho of the Philippines; nieces Erica Godwin, Laura Walker, and nephew, Wade Godwin; other relatives and many friends.
