Howard Stine
January 29, 1917 - February 16, 2016
Howard Winton Stine, son of George Winton Stine and Mabel Irene Wolf Stine, was born January 29, 1917 on a farm near Dana, Iowa. He died February 16, 2016 at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home at the age of 99 years. Howard grew up and spent his life on the farm near Dana, Iowa and graduated from Dana High School. On May 23, 1959, Howard was united in marriage to Lucille Charlotte Brown in Grand Forks, North Dakota. They were the proud parents of two sons, John and David. They made their home on the farm where Howard farmed until the age of 72. Howard was proud to remain on the farm until the age of 92, spending the past 7 years in Mason City. Howard enjoyed the farm, a good road trip, and playing cards with friends, relatives and family. Howard also enjoyed a good auction and in later years spending time with his grade school friend Elva Johnson. He especially loved spending time with his family and relatives. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Paton, Iowa. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Lucille. He is survived by his 2 sons: John W. Stine of Randall, IA and David (Linda) Stine of Mason City, IA, 2 grandchildren: Jason Stine and Kelsey Stine both of Mason City, IA: 2 nieces Connie (Wayne) Turner of Manchester, IA and Marilyn (Walt) Flick of Lake Havasu City, AZ, other relatives and friends.
