Interment at a future date will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Greene County, Iowa. Obituary of Lois Murphy Lois Murphy was born December 6, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was the daughter of John Kenneth Anderson and Beulah Smith Anderson. Lois graduated from Jefferson High School. In 1950, Lois was united in marriage to C. Dean Murphy. They were the parents of five sons: Nick, Jack, Scott, Marty and Pat. Lois lived most of her life in Jefferson, Iowa. She was a homemaker. She worked for a few years at American Athletic in Jefferson. Lois and Dean enjoyed golf. They wintered in Texas for many years. In recent years, Lois liked to play Dominos with her friends and neighbors. Lois Murphy died March 6, 2022 at the age of 89 years. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Nick; her parents; her husband who died in 2006; a brother, Verle Anderson; and a daughter-in-law, Michelle Murphy. Survivors include son Jack (Linda) Murphy of Jefferson, IA and their children and grandchildren: Nicholas and Michelle Murphy, parents of Mason and Lauren, and Mitchell and Amanda Murphy, parents of Memphis; son Scott Murphy of Carroll, IA; son Marty Murphy of San Antonio, TX and his children and grandchildren: Melissa and Paul Hagdorn, parents of Evelynn; and Matthew and Jamie Murphy, parents of Dylan; and son Pat (Karen) Murphy of Jefferson and their children and grandchildren: Trent Murphy, parent of Ryder and Chase; and Michael Murphy, parent of Zaena and Tucker; sister-in-law, Norma Anderson of Elk River, MN; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
