Funeral services for Lucille Hutchinson, 95, of Carmel, Indiana, formerly of Jefferson, will be 11:00 a.m. Friday June 22, 2007, at Slininger-Rossow Funeral Home in Jefferson. Interment will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Friday, one hour prior to the funeral. Lucille Hutchinson was born December 25, 1911 in Ogden, Iowa. She was the only child of Eric and Hattie (Johnson) Hagaleen. Lucille graduated from Ogden High School and Iowa State Teachers College with an associate degree in education. She taught second and third grades in Thornburg, Iowa and Scranton, Iowa before her marriage. On April 20, 1935, Lucille married William Edward Hutchinson of Boone. They lived in Boone for 3 years before establishing their home in Jefferson when her husband started Hutchinson Insurance Service in 1938. Lucille was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jefferson, where she was active in various Methodist women’s organizations. She was a past matron of Eastern Star. Lucille was a leader of the Camp Fire Girls, held offices in study clubs and Friday Club, and was a member of several bridge clubs. Lucille died June 19, 2007 at Sunrise of Carmel in Carmel, IN at the age of 95 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eric and Hattie Hagaleen and her husband, Bill. Survivors include her daughter Sherritt K. Burger and her husband A. William Burger of Carmel, IN; three grandchildren: Brad Burger of Longview, WA; Sheli Burrow of Carmel, IN; Greg Burger of Cincinnati, OH and two great-granddaughters, Natalie and Lindsey Burrow of Carmel, IN.
