Funeral Services for Marian Claman, 79, of Lake City, Iowa formerly of Grand Junction will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Grand Junction, Iowa. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be from 11:00 am Wednesday at the church until the time of the service. Interment will be at Junction Township Cemetery, Grand Junction, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the family and may be left at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home. Obituary of Marian Claman Marian Alberta Dosland Claman was born April 8, 1937 in Lehigh, Iowa. She was the daughter of Florence Long Dosland and Albert Dosland. On December 16, 1961 Marian was united in marriage to Don Claman. Together, they made their home in Grand Junction. Marian taught school for 25 years at Paton-Churdan Schools and her husband Don operated the local barber shop in Grand Junction. Marian enjoyed fishing, camping, painting and ceramics. She liked to observe nature, and especially enjoyed cardinals. On October 23, 2016, Marion passed away at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City, Iowa. She was 79 years of age. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don who died in 2014. Marian is survived by her son Jeff (Sonya) Claman of Boone, IA; her daughter Deanne Sievers (Paul) of Carroll, IA; four grandchildren: Brady Claman, Rylee Claman, Jacob Stewart, and Becca Stewart; a sister, Marlys Henley of Humblodt, IA; other relatives and many friends.
