It is with deepest sorrow the family announces the passing of Mary Doloris Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa. Mary, also known as “Dee Dee”, was born July 6, 1931 in Grand Junction, Iowa. She attended school in Grand Junction and graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1949. Following graduation she married the love of her life, Robert L. Anderson, on September 24, 1949 and began married life in Des Moines. Dee Dee’s life revolved around her husband and their five children. She was a busy stay-at-home mom. Her activities included Boy Scout Den Mother, PTA president, involvement in several bowling leagues and La Sertoma. Anyone who knew Dee Dee, knew her love of the Chicago Cubs, Black and White Westerns, and word puzzles. She always had a smile on her face and her laugh was a delight to hear. She loved all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren unconditionally. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert L. Anderson; parents, Lloyd and Velma Gray; sister, Loretta DeAngelis; brother, Richard Gray; and grandson, Dustan (Dusty) Towne. She is survived by her four sons: Ronald (Theresa); Donald (Dona); John; and Robert; and one daughter, Linda (Alan) Alweiss. Mary’s grandchildren who were loved deeply, include Jason (Lisa), Aleasha (Mike), Vincent, Jamie (Quade), Caleb, and Sarah. Her great-grandchildren include Dalton, Ella, Jalie, Audrey, and Ace. We will miss you, Mom, and wish you ever-lasting peace with our dad in the heavens above. Online condolences may be left at www.sliningerschroeder.com. Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home 515-386-2171
