Pauline Richardson Jefferson, Iowa Date of Death: April 18, 2018 Funeral services for Pauline Richardson, 93, of Jefferson, will be held at 2:00pm Monday, April 23, 2018 at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home, Jefferson. Burial will be at a later date at the Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation with the family is from 2:00 – 5:00pm Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home, Jefferson. Memorials in honor of Pauline may be left at the funeral home. Doris Pauline (Flack) Richardson passed away on April 18, 2018 at her home in Jefferson, Iowa, at the age of 93 years. She was born April 23, 1924, on a farm near Churdan, in Greene County, Iowa to Guy and Lorene (Becker) Flack. She attended country school near Lena, Iowa, as a child, and later attended Jefferson High School where she graduated in 1942. During her high school years, Pauline met the love of her life, Gail Richardson. Following the end of World War II, Pauline and Gail were married on August 25, 1948. The couple made their home in Jefferson, and had four children: Guy, Becky, Paul, and Robbie. After raising the children, Pauline eventually assisted Gail, part-time, at the family business, Greene County Abstract Company. Pauline was very fond of antiques and opened her own antique store, “Collectors Corner”, which she operated until it was destroyed by fire in January of 1977. Pauline was a member of the Jefferson Does and Beta Tau Delta Sorority. Pauline also loved music and taught herself to play the organ. For many years she provided musical entertainment for family, friends and anyone who wanted to “join in” by playing for “sing-alongs” at numerous locations around Jefferson and other towns in central Iowa. She loved getting together for jam sessions with her friends, Ike and Riggs Rohovit, Clev Clevanger, Doug Jackson, and Rick Morain, playing alongside. They never failed to draw a large crowd, and played at the Bell Tower Festival, Redwood Restaurant, Elks Lodge, and Jefferson Country Club, just to name a few. Pauline was a politically active, proud, lifelong Republican. She showed her support, alongside Jerry Kelly, driving the Republican truck for parades and being involved in other campaign activities. Pauline enjoyed her later years spending time at home and with family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gail; brothers: Bob, Harold, and Dick Flack; sister, Jeanette White; and granddaughter, Nicole Richardson. Pauline is survived by her four children: Guy (Katie) Richardson, Becky (Tom) Schilling, Paul (Lisa) Richardson, Robbie (Dan) Burkhardt, and long-time friend and companion, Jerry Kelley, all of Jefferson.
